I felt like this was the best place to post this.

I just bought Brian Price's Techniques of Medieval Armour Reproduction from amazon.com and was looking at the "people who bought this also bought:" section.

I was wondering if any of these books would also help me out in the newbie armoring department:

"The Complete Modern Blacksmith" is very much a build your own tools and equipment book using scrap and found items. I like it very much as a beginner blacksmith book.

One armourmaking specific item is that it has a section on forging the faces of ballpeens out into wide shallowly domed dishing hammers.

Why don't you ILL them from the public library and look before you buy?

I would sugest if your intrested in blacksmith check out the edge of the anvil by jack andrews
the art of blacksmithing by Alex Bealer
and then there's Alexander Weygels books as well.

but these are all general blacksmithing books
some of the forums on the net have good informaiton as well

Hi there, Brian Prices TOMAR is pretty much all you need to learn to make armor. Ive re read it many times over the years and still learn something new each time, Because is my skills grow, I understand more of what Brian is saying to me in the book each time I read it. Most books dont actually expain it in depth as he does.
