Warning: Always wear MSHA or NIOSH approved respirator and eye protection while buffing. Inhalation of silica dust may cause silicosis. Buffing causes lint and silica dust to become airborne.
So apparently I need to invest in some protective gear before I use this stuff.
What do you recommend?

I started with a canister mask but later discovered supplied air which I love. positive air pressure at the face means no dust/gasses reach your respitory system.
to keep from using air inside my shop for the mask... a 4" furnace duct to the front of my shop supplies the air pump. to reduce possible exhaust dust and road dustcoming I put a furnace filter on the intake and the supplied air is very clean.
the whole setup cost me less than $75 and decreased my overall buffing time due to less fatigue than a canister mask setup.
to remove the dust/fibers/buffinf compound... I have a roof vent fan mounted behind the buffer that vents directly to the outside. just cut a hole in the wall and mount the fan in it.

I simple canister mask is good enough for light use.
if you dont remove the buffing dust from your shop/garage eventually every crevice and crack will be coated with a ultra fine black dust thats very tough to get rid of.
