Beeswax?

I've seen a number of suppliers on the Internet selling beeswax, but don't know which ones are particularly reputable or not.

I need several pounds of white(ish) non-bleached beeswax for a couple of projects, and thought we might have people here who could recommend some places to buy from. (Leatherworks, chandlers, whatever.)

I get mine from a New Jersey apiary not very far from my home. I'm at the office right now and don't have the name at my fingertips. I *believe* I found them through an internet search, which may mean they will do mail order.

I get bees wax from Michaels, usually the white bees wax. I don't know if it's bleached or natural. They always seem to have 40% off an individual purchase, and occasionally you can get a 50% off individual purchase. Last time I bought it, it was like $12.99 lb. or $6.50 with the coupon.

Try your local bee keepers usualy they are well conected with each other and can help out usualy at a discount or whole sale prices. Your local pest exterminators may also be able to help find a few bee keepers or dead hives.

The comercial stuff has been processed and refined quite a bit almost to an off white color the honey scent its added back in.

Raw unrefined wax/honey can contain honey and bit of debrie such as bee parts and other things. bee keepers with larger operations will have equipment to strain and remove some of the larger bits.

These are the people I bought wax from a year or so ago. Very pleasant, product seems good quality - minimal undesirable bits and so forth.

Pricing was at least competitive and I was able to pick up in person and avoid shipping costs.
