Post by AEiric Orvender »

My my new SCA Helm, it is a SCA version of the Meyric Helm a 1st Cent Briton helm with the cheek-pieces put back into place.

I'll be adding leather details to match the real helm before painting it bronze.

I wouldn't worry BA... he can't run very far with his brae's hanging around his ankles.

Awesome hat though. I can't wait to see what it looks like once you've blinged it.

I'm gonna go ahead and show my ignorance here because it's funny. Until today I really thought they wore those things baseball cap style with the brim in front.

Lesson learned.

Can hardly wait to see what you do with it - already looks good! Is that a Hjalmir helm?

Do a good, solid four point chin strap with that one. I can see the potential for some really unpleasant helm placement adjustments if it is not strapped on very firmly. That brim in the back is going to catch some things in weird ways.
