"Roman" belt

Post by Diglach Mac Cein »

I'm looking to add a belt for my 5thc AD kit (fighting)-

I was thinking the roman style (would work for my kit) so I can attach a scabbard, or a small hook for my cudgle/mace.

How WIDE would it be? I've see other kits and such, with widths from what looks like 2" to 6" - trying to avoid the "WWE Champion" look.

Thoughts anyone?

Diglach, I have 2.

The one I fight in, is 4" wide and my dress one is 3" wide. I prefer the 3" personally, the 4" just seems to big, but I havent bought the hardware to make a new one yet. i will probably drop by 1st week of Pennsic and get the hardware and build a new one that is just 3" to fight in for war week.

But both are historically correct, from the research info I have.

That is what I figured.

I'll be making the one for fighting first, and a fancier one for dress later.
