I was just wondering if anybody does a good Agincourt portrayal?
It has been in my head for a while now for some reason!

Sir Crispin Bucher of the Midrealm does. But he's not on the Archive. And I believe he's training up for deployment to the sandbox.

Ditto. He was one of the original "push the limit" guys. He was doing COTT stuff before it was cool to do it. He was one of my most favorite people to fight in our kingdom. Man, do I miss that guy.

La Belle is working on doing an Agincourt camp for next year.

Will do. I'd like to see him more myself. At least his job this deployment is one of the least dangerous, he's to command on-base MP security somewhere over there.

Jeff Wasson did a splendid composite "Agincourt" harness a few years back. Lots of details on his page for it.

I love that suit.
I actually have somone modifying a bascinet (with Jeff's Permission) to look like the one in that picture.

I will soon have most of an Agincourt harness, achieved through combining some late 14th century harness with a great bascinet and a cuirass with fauld.

Last July, my wife and I had the opportunity to travel through England for about 3 weeks. While there, we went to the Medieval History Festival at Kelmarsh Hall. There, they had a several hundred man re-enactment of Agincourt. I about broke my finger furiously taking as many pictures of it as possible! Here's a few that I thought might be of some help.

I had a chance to talk with alot of the Agincourt people, and found them to be alot like us in the states. Helpful, knowledgable, and excited in what they were doing and having ALOT of fun doing it.

Yes, The Wars of the Roses Federation has done Harfleur/Agincourt at the Festival of History for the past couple of years. I'll have a dig arround for more.

Alric, I presume you are aware that many of the folk you photo'd are wearing kit that is VERY post-Agincourt?

It is true of much of the clothing too. Most are wearing 1450 and beyond outfits and not 1415 clothing at all. They are solidly War of the Roses and not Hundred Years War.

Doublets in that era should basically look like a pourpoint with long peplums.

Also kettle helms are almost never depicted on longbow men, they should have half helms, scale helms, or bascinets on at this time.

Well that's one of the reason why I asked if anybody Actually portrays Agincourt. They may be re-creating the "Battle" but they are not actually recreating the time period.

Actually, I didn't know...my main focus is usually on 11/12th century and 16 century England...and my Agincourt-100 Years War knowldedge is limited to the basics. Didn't mean to pass on incorrect info, MJ, just saw the request and thought I could post some pics to help.

There may be an Agincourt event in the USA (East Coast) in 2015.
I will keep you posted.

There may also be one at Agincourt in 2015. I will cross my bow drawing fingers.

I am working on some drawing of doublets at this time, when they are done I will post them.

Just to let everyone know, the FED, while post Agincourt have never claimed to be specialists in that period. Their remit is to do War of the Roses, which they do very well. They were asked to do some Agincourt re-enactments by English Heritage, and did all they could to oblige. Some people even bought whole new harnesses. Unfortunately, that isn't possible for everyone, so many just did the best they could with what they had available.

Do you want pictures of an actual agincourt re-enactment, or just ones that would work for that era?

My other love is War of the Roses. So I do enjoy all of the pictures that have been given so far!

This is the most basic shape seen from the 1410 to 1425 era:



Sleeves are a bit different for rich guys like this:



You can see the sleeve is baggy with a cuff instead of a normal tapering sleeve. Sleeve shape based on Les Tres Riches Heures Du Duc De Berry 1412-1416:

I started on an Agincourt period look for my tournament kit but never quite finished. Not really done in the joust world, it's all 13/14thC then there is a tendency to jump into mid 15thC. Here is where I got to for what it is worth.
