Thank you Logan for your kind words and insight. I will most certainly make mention in the refined version of the rules of period footwear as well as rephrasing the braises and chausess bit.

ok so i am about to give in to temptation and buy the arms and legs that popeye has for sale over on the classifieds board.
they are a brigandine wool set with mild steel knees and elbows.
they do have brigandine greaves attached.
would these satisfy the greave requirement?
i would assume so but i just want to clarify.
this would really be the only hurdle for me to participate.

They allowed me, at the one at gulf, to get away with splinted leather shynbalds, you'll likely be fine. I'm not in charge, but I'd be surprised if they said no.

I think splinted greaves are appropriate for the period and are definately acceptable.

sweet. now as long as they arrive by great western, and barring any unforseeable obstacles i will be there.
