The weekend of Feb. 18-19 has been set (after much consultation between Glen, Jesse and Ken)as the date for the Conroi FitzOsbern Living History/Experimental Archeology weekend.
This particular date gives a buffer zone for the March events that people have going on.

Details will follow but the basic information is:

Date - Sat. Feb. 18 & Sun. Feb. 19, probable arrival/set up on
Fri. Feb. 17.

Place - Social Circle, Georgia; about 40 miles outside Atlanta off Interstate 20

Era - 11th Century w/emphasis on 1066/Norman Conquest

If you move it back a week I will be there and Chuck/Wolf said he is interested and has a buddy who is interested too. Not sure any of the other guys will make it, most of them are new dads and don't go far for event.

The event on the 18th for Grey's just came up at our meeting Saturday or I would have said something sooner, sorry about that.

back witch way the 11th or the 25th? keep in mind we need all the mounted guys we can so I need to work that around them first then our own group fitzosbern and the vikes we need as many people there as possible. I also want to do cavalry assessments for those who want to while we are there.

I am good either way, the 18th is my only sticking point which is a PITA since we are doing a 1 day thing and that is a 3 day weekend.

Perhaps we should move it to Feb. 24/25/26-ish, then? I think that would probably fit better with everyone, and I want to make sure our NoVa bretheren can join us if at all possible.

The next question is: based on the people who can attend, would it be better to have the event proper Friday and Saturday, to allow Sunday as a travel day, or Saturday and Sunday?

The week-end of Feb. 24/25/26 seems to be the one that works best. It'll probably still be a conflict for some, but seems to benefit most (VA guys, Andy and his guys). So Glen & Jesse, do we make the change official? I say sure.

All,
The weekend of the 24/25/26th is fine with me. I think making Sunday a travel day for those that have a long distance drive is fine. Local people can maybe stay and get in a little more practice on live steel on Sunday morning. I will say we need as much cavalry training as possible, with the people and horses working together.
