I'm lokin at tomb effigies and i can't get a real good view of the side of the belt in the 14th.

How is the sword and or dagger attached to the belt?

Is it on hooks? Through the belt? a seperate belt? i can't tell.

This nice fella posted these pics on FS

been looking and looking found just a couple pics that you can kinda see the sheath that are post 1340's.

It looks like there is a loop with a d ring attached to another loop around the sheath.

this is the one the sheath from Albion is based off of i think.

John de Creke's seesm simple enough

Can anyone get a close up of this one's belt fiting?

The last style.... the late 14th century one, where it appears that the scabbard is just stuck to the plaque belt.... there are at least a couple surviving fittings that seem to indicate that a hook or loop on the belt connects to a hook or loop on the scabbard.

I think the idea is that the scabbard can easily be removed from the belt to place on a saddle, or to discard for combat
