I believe it is in the site's best interest to have rattan only.

The reasons are simple...
It will be a source for questions and comment and more importantly...

CONFUSION!

The site is SCA kits, its only appropriate to have SCA weapons. Plus, this forces/allows the fighters to show off their best SCA rattan representations of the weapons their persona's would use. It's easy to grab your HE or MR bec-de-corbin, making one that is list-legal and attractive is something else.

Sounds good. It also means I will be posting weaponless, as I dont have any pretty ones.

A standard list legal sword will be fine.

Yeah, but we are supposed to look good. My basket-hilt aint. Sheet metal welded together with a couple of bars.

Paint it the color of your gloves, or brown, or black.
Or borrow a pretty one for a few bouts and get lotts of pics!
...or hide it behiend your shield!

Yeah, that ir probably what I will do. My gloves actually serve as demi-gauntlets, how they are made, so I might just not have a sword in there. Both hands on the top of the shield. I have thought about painting it, but never got around to it. At least it looks better than a turd on a stick.
