Review: Historic Enterprises Table Cloth !

Post by Andrew Young »

I recieved the chained cats table cloth today and it really met the high expectations I had, coming from Historic Enterprises. The cloth itself was a nice weight, not too heavy, not too light.

Here is the picture of the version I just recieved, from the HE website:

The inserted glossy info flyer was a nice touch too.

Keep up the great work Jeff and Gwen....I have picked up a number of your reenactment goods from pottery to hornware to this new tablecloth and the quality is excellant. Bravo.....the tablecloth will be used in my historical presentations and lectures so it will be seen my thousands of people and deservedly so!

cheers

We like ours very much, and we have a variety, from a hand-loomed diapered pattern in 100% linen, to HE's example to the Medieval Designs offering. Excellenmt bargain for historical nappery.

Thanks for the kudos, the linens are one of my favorite products. I think for me only the glassware gets higher cool points than the table linens.

I've been wanting to cut a tablecloth up into either cafe curtains for my kitchen, or a skirt, or a caftan coat kinda thing, but haven't found the time. Someone online was selling decorator pillows made out of antique perugia linens which I thought was positively shocking, but liked the idea and thought I might try it with the repros. haven't had time for that either.

Funny you mention the glass Gwen...I was thinking about some.

And yet ironically as well....I was plugging the idea of curtains to my wife. I think she would be more open to the idea if I finished the renovations in the kitchen and dining room first

Well, I was going to make a formal announcement in a couple of days about the glass, but this might be a good opportunity to mention it now.

I've seen the glass exhibited at the UK shows by various vendors like Forest Glass and while their wares are fine, I still believe Le Verre Historique does the very best reproduction glass. Apparently museums feel the same way, as her work is seen in museums throughout France, Belgium, Italy, Germany, Spain, etc.

Although LVH owner and master glassblower Eva Bartova speaks 7 languages, she isn't fluent in English. Because of the communication difficulty she isn't comfortable with retail sales to the US, so you can't order directly from her. Eva and I communicate very well, so we've made an arrangement with to expand Historic Enterprises' glassware offerings.

Beginning immediately, we're pleased to announce that you can order any item from the Le Verre Historique website thru Historic Enterprises.

Le Verre Historique website

With hundreds of replicas covering Gallo Roman, Mergovingian, Frankish and Viking thru the Middle Ages and Renaissance and even into modern periods, this partnership vastly expands the American re-enactors glass options.

To order from the Le Verre Historique site, email me at gwen @ historicenterprises.com with the reference number and a description of the period and piece you'd like a price on. I will get the price from Eva, calculate shipping to your address, estimate delivery time, and call or send the info back to you promptly.

And cheers regarding alternate ways to use the linens. Clearly great minds think alike, as I'm convinced they'd make rockin tab curtains! :D
