but would really like to see from the waist down on it. Its part of the "history of Saint John the Baptist" frescos by Jacopo and Lorenzo Salimbeni in the Urbino. The picture I have came from the book "a history of private life" and only has the close up detail. I've spent hours searching the web and haven't found anything more.

That looks vaguely familiar but I'm not sure where I've seen it... In the meantime, you could either buy or ILL this book; it seems like a good bet that the image will be in it:

The Place of Narrative: Mural Decoration in Italian Churches, 431-1600 by Marilyn Aronberg Lavin

Thank you very much Peder, I cann't count the hours I've unsuccesfully searched for that.
Tasha, allready looked at an ILL on that book, just been to busy to get to the library and do it.
Drew its that Escher look that makes me love it so much. In another section of the painting there is a figure in a long sleeve cote with the same pattern in red dark green/black and white.

I've been wanting to do this outfit for well over a year, now time to start shopping for fabric.

Thanks again all
Brian
