Manesse Codex hat

Post by zippy »

I want this hat

http://www.tempora-nostra.de/Manesse.php?id=203&tfl=127

I don't know much about early 14th cent hats
but I have only seen the single colored felt hats
Is this just a single piece of felt hat
or two pieces sewn together
or is it even felt at all
how is it constructed and how can i make or purchase one
is this the same style hat that would have pilgrim badges placed on it
that and many more questions I have
but that should start us off
have fun

Thanks dude, you've stuck the soundtrack to Into the Woods in my head for the rest of the evening.

Zippy, it looks like it's two pieces, brim and body of hat, to me.
