Renaissance Music

I find myself becoming interested in Renaissance music.

I play the modern trumpet, baritone and bassoon, and am intrigued by the double-reed and brass instruments of the period (shawm, dulcian, zink, natural trumpet, and sackbut, among others).

How do I go about learning more or getting involved?

^ They have some period music books as well as instruments. Also search out early music groups and SCA bards.

Sorry for the short answer, but the kids just got real quiet...

There's an SCAMusicians yahoo group which could be a good place to start to finding musicians around you. I've played with a couple from the Mid who were quite good.
I lead my baronial music guild and I'm my kingdom's A&S minister's deputy for music and dance. My training is in trumpet too, but I play recorder, sacbut, occarina, and a little of pretty much everything. I recently got some bagpipes:
