These filthy infidels have been in the Holy City too long!
I, Faruk el Baz, shall raise a unit of Turkomen cavalry to aid the Great Salahadin rid this land of the Infidel and his blasphemous workings.
I long to see an army of the Faithful, but should it be only myself, the Great Salahadin, and my bretheren, than it shall be as God has determined it will be.
we shall spill the blood of the Infidel, for it is worthy that we do so.
What say you?! I long to hear an outcry from the Faithful, and pledges of warriors and gold for this holy cause!
Insha'Allah
Faruk el Baz.........
Or, in a different time. (and different armor)

I have consulted the histories to determine for whom the emperor would declare. My research was...inconclusive.
It seems that his Imperial Majesty wishes to make a treaty with the Muslim forces while imploring the franks for aid.
If only I knew what date on which your assault would fall, I would know on which side to declare. Alas, you may not wish to reveal that information, for fear that I am with your enemy already.
(period date mind you, not modern. I can look that up easily enough in the battlefield schedule)

From Sir Bran of Outremer ---
"Nice try but we may be doing The Seventh Crusade 1248 to 1254 & the Battles of the Nile Delta. Tell as-Salih Ayyub of your intent. Saladin is dust by now."

Never give in--never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy. Churchill, 1941

Righteous battle be praised
The true and godly troops of the Great Salahadin will rid our blessed land of these invaders of an unholy people and march with their banners behind our horses as we praise our lord and leaders.
