Pictures from our events
Hi, guys!
I was just looking through my old pictures from different festivals and events. So, my idea was to add some of them into our website.
Probably, you will find them interesting. Some of them are really cool (as for me). What do you think of them?

Leo:
Did you never attend any of the events at the College of the Grey Gargoyles (University of Chicago)?
I know when I was attending College there, way back in the eighties, we had some pretty cool events in some of the Gothic halls and courtyards and such.
Naturally not as all-embracing as the real places... but not too bad for the Midrealm, all things considering!

about the festival in Lida
Hi!
I just decided to tell you a few words about that festival and about the castle itself. I think, it worth to read about))
The castle. It was built in 1330. The fortress was sieged many times by Teutonic Knights, armies of French and English knights, tatars, posish troops and Swedes. The last balltles around this fortress were held during the WW2 and it was almost completely destroyed. But now it is restored.
The festival.. There were 350 participants from Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Poland, Ukraine and of course Belarus. One of the most spectacular parts was horse jousting and lance target competition. Also there were individual unmounted duels with swords and shields. We usually use steel not sharpened armour. The thrustw weapon is prohibited according to our rules. The most popular kind of combat is so called bugurt- mass combats. The main principle of such battle- if you fall down, you are died. Only chops are permitted in such type of combat. You can use any type of weapon, accept from crushing weapon with thorns (such as tooths, bludgeon etc.). Also we have team combats with 6 to 10 members in team. The mail themes are: Occupation of a Brigde, Hijacking of an enemy's Flag, Defence of a King. Our team and belorussian club took premier prize- giant Skewered pig!
So, I think, you guys will make up your decision and visit some of such festivals infuture. ha-ha-ha.
Sorry for my English, it was rather difficult to describe all the beauties of festival in English for me)

Re: about the festival in Lida
I would love to come to some of those Festivals but I fear I would be a fish out of water because I only speak (American) English.
Are your events under any type of sanctioning body (Organization) with a website?
Some of your pictures are just fantastic and all inspiring. I wish I could save some of them to my PC
Thank you,
Thor.
