I fight mainly cut and thrust these days. though I'd like to get back into heavy again.

Update as of Lunch today.

I segregated groups based on weapons forms since Excell was caughing over 140 samples. Not certain why. I've added 3 curves representing the boundaries for skinny/normal/heavy/obease based on BMI just because it's an arbitrary inaccurate scale and I'm NOT Obease dammit! (or I'll be happy to loose a few pounds)
Heights are in inches on the left and CM on the right. Weight is in pounds across the bottom and the added brown diamonds are in 25 kilo points (not labeled, Excell was being a pest)
If we go much past this sample size it should be setup with a form to enter and tabulate the data so I don't have to do it manually.
Are people finding this interesting? I need to get some median, 75% and 95% height lines to throw on as well. The SCA is definetly a big-boy sort of sport.

Really it looks to me that the data is saying we are a pretty average sample. If you think about it, most people have a BMI in the overweight range, some appropriately, some not. This shows most people in that range. our heights look like they fall into the 70-74 inch range. So a primarily male data set around 6 foot tall, pretty average too i think. Because its a scatter plot, its hard to see where the bell curve fits, but it seems that way to me.
It is interesting for sure. id like to see if there is a correlation between physical size and martial success. Its a tough one to quantify though.

Wow, I am right in the middle (mode), but the big dudes skew the average up, I bet.
I especially like the graph for the obvious "reporting error" at EXACTLY 6' tall. I actually think I am like 6 1/4" or something.
We are definitely skewed tall, as 5'10" is national average (male). Also we seem to have most of the "tall, heavy" end of the tail.
Since you have it in excel, why not just give us avg/mode height/weight etc.?

Sorry guys, at some point when sorting the data I must not have sorted it with the awards column included. That means it's probably scrambled completely and I'll have to resort by original index, manually updata the data and re-sort to re-graph... I'm a bit swamped today so If it's important I can get to it next week. I'm gone Sat through Tues for a wedding. (no Interwebs! Ahhhggghhh!)

I imagine most people here have desk-jobs and armchair jockeys are more prone or armchair spread... hence I think the weaght levels may be biased high... but I still think BMI is a hoax.

The awards listed are completely F***ed up. My fault. I appear to have offset data one row when I sorted data by combat. type. I WILL fix it.
