Ok here goes the stats.....

Height: 5'6'
Weight: 200 lbs
Age: 48 (SCA since I was 19)Time does fly when you have fun....

Greetings,

I'm 6'3" and weigh 215 lbs.
I fight heavy with sword and shield, langasaex and shield, Danish axe, and boar spear.

I'll turn 35 in December and I've been fighting for almost nine years. I've been awarded an AoA, a Grant of Arms for service, and a Lion's Torse.

Let's see:

Height - 5'7"
Weight - 167-ish and falling (gained a bit with the leg injuries - my prime fighting weight is 145-150)

Time in armor - 29 years this fall, all rattan.
Age - 44 (for another two weeks, and I am holding on to it)
Titles - Viscountess, Countess, Duchess

Oh, but those are the ones someone ELSE got me by fighting...

Wow, I don't know how I missed this before, but this is very interesting/entertaining. Now I know how big/small my friends all over the Knowne World are. Cool.

In our Baronial Tournament few weeks back the Baron announced the Finals as Michael Buffer - In this Corner Sir Conrad at 305 lbs and in this corner Simon at 112 lbs soaking wet. I'm bigger than that, but it's interesting to see the size difference.

Rattan/Rapier interchangably (did I just make up a word?Hmmm)
Rapier since age 19, rattan about 7 years.
Duellist AOA rapier/Crescent Sword AOA Rattan, Corde du Guerre from King Edward II of Caid.

Fight Righty/Lefty as the spirit moves me. Not full ambi yet, but working on it.

On the rattan side, I want to be able to pick up whatever is in front of me and beat you with it.
On the rapier side I fight everything, but I have started C/T recently and looooove it.

Might be fodder for another post, but also, Muy Thai, Grappling, Tai Kwon Do and some Kendo. Anyone else out there equally retarded?
Need more hours in the day or more days in the week.

I still have the spreadsheet with most of this data compiled. There was a snafu and I messed up the awards column and I started to go back and fix that... Now I have no time.

If anyone else wants to take over compiling the data presented so far I can send them my Excel Spreadsheet. It's nothing magical but it will save a bunch of manual typing.

I'll help with the analysis:

Being bigger helps when fighting in hand to hand combat.

Duh.

This is why you'll never see 5'6" 140lb guys working as a bouncer at a club.

Does this mean that being small prevents you from being good, or even great? No, of course not. You have different tricks you can use, and (hopefully) different advantages at your disposal. But, in general, being bigger is a major advantage.

Btw, as a small guy, I wouldn't trade it in any way shape or form. There is something wonderful about being David versus Goliath every time you fight. :-)

i'm not in the SCA, but re-enact on the other side of the water:
pollaxe, sword, dagger, spear, shields etc, all steel: 12,5 years plus
jousting: 8 years
