Nissan's rondel dagger scabbard.

Nissan's rondel dagger scabbard.

Post by Vitus von Atzinger »

To match his Satanic Katzbalger. Sorry about the colors- every time I take indoor pics at night the red's come out differently from pic to pic.

This has a unique twist- I dyed all of the cutwork with red dye. Makes it pop.

Again, the colors are not true. None of the piece came out pinky.

I can't figure out why my pics aren't coming up in the thread itself.

Nice, Vitus. What kind of blade are you using for the cutwork ?

It's like a swivel knife blade mounted in a fixed handle....

I am well pleased.

Incidentally, I got the big gold coin in the pommel as mercenary swag.

Bad news- you are going to have to sand down the blade until it fits well. It currently has no tape and fits great. I'm SO SORRY about trashing your text.

Which bronze things? The guard and pommel are milled out of bronze plate. The little flower things are fancy upholstery tacks.

yes, the tacks. It really adds to the whole finish. Do they hold up OK? Did you do something to the rattan? It looks shiny.

They hold up great. And if they fall out you stick in another one. The rattan is planed really smooth.

The biggest dimension cannot exceed 500 pixels. Your's are 30 % too big.

Great stuff, as always, Vitus.

When are we gonna actually see this German kit, Nissan? Inquiring minds and all that.

Everything but the helmet that started the whole thing is done. The helmet? If I could get an armourer to actually hit a piece of metal on that project I would be happy.
