lightweight woodgrain spears now in stock
since there seemed to be some concern about the weight of our tougher spears (less than 4.5 pounds) some folks said they wanted a lighter model. ours is 3.8mm thick on average (soc mins are 3.2mm) and weigh almost a pound less. these are in stock and a picture is on the website.

yes. and how dare you!! i saw you, i think, and (again, i think) you walked by and didnt stop in to talk with me. and here i thought you werent scared of the evil that is logan.....
by the way, for all those that talk about meridians being wimps and all that, half of the spears we sold at silver hammer were our heavy shafts. so there!
by the way, speaking of silver hammer, while the weather was bad and the fighting field was a hike from the rest of the event i did want to say thank you to all of the people there. i talked with so many folks and was greeted by all kinds of people. we certainly felt welcomed and that was awesome. thanks too to the guy that stopped by with the "adult" haloween candy of beef jerky. not because it was good, it really wasnt, but because of that mans simple generosity and kindness.
the folks at the gate were awesome as well. big smiles and quick service. thank you to them as well.
to their highnesses of meridies, it was a pleasure to spend the little time we had together. ive known her highness for years and his highness for a little less. they were gracious and inviting to some old duke from another kingdom. meridies should be proud.

Saw one at fighter practice tonight that Martin had.
The wood grain looks great.
These are still a bit heavier than the lighter red ones, not as heavy as the old greenish or grey ones. They are much stiffer than the red, but not as stiff as the stiffest in service.
Very nice.
I plan to get one of Martin's. If it was 1/2 pound lighter then I'd probably get several, but then I'm a girly man.

That weekend is both our Birthdays and our Anniversary so I will see what I can do. Normally we go to HotC but we didn't go last year for some reason. It will depend on what Zeph wants to do or even if she has off from work. I'm sure we can find some time to hang out and it would be fun.
See you then.

Actually, I did stop and chat briefly about the spears.
Our roomie, Radu, bought one of the lighter spear shafts from you though. So...one went home with us.
Wish you'd have stuck around longer!
Yeah...the weather sucked. Ugh. You missed a great feast though!

Both of you should come to the Sea March fighter practice.
Duke Thorstenn, I am sure if you let Mittion know, he'd make sure all of his guys are there if possible. Will lives there; Brion come a lot (and would bring Justin); Larry can usually make it with notice; Eagleheart if he isn't working; Ironpaw depending on family stuff.
Duke Logan, if you are in town for a full week and a half, consider coming a bit south (Ft Lauderdale) to the Sangre fighter practice. It's on Thursday nights. I'll email you with the details.

Duke Logan, I'll take three of these for Hero of the Chalice. I think I posted this on some other thread but I'm so exhausted maybe I forgot to. Can send you a deposit if needed.

I ordered 7 spears, 4 light & 3 heavy, and the demand was so great I ordered another 7. Hopefully I'll have them by the time Bordermarche Autumn Melees rolls around next week. Folk seem pretty excited about them.

no need for a deposit and i appreciate the heads up. we are driving down and i dont want to pack a whole lot of extras so having an idea of the demand helps.
now, do you want the lighter ones or the ones in the video? the weight difference is less than a pound. if you just want to check them out when i get there thats fine. i will have a 50/50 mix. if you know any equstrian folks that might want 10' or 12' versions for their games please ask them to contact me so i can make sure to have them with me.
