Can I guess?
Water soaked leather, stretched and sewn, then dried in place and polished?

Nah, I bet he just told it what to do.

Nah, Vlad.
There are two ways to do it- carve the rattan completely or glue a thick piece of thong to the handle and go over it with the covering.

Man, I so need to figure out how to make a cross hilted sword work for me. The coolness factor makes me think it's worth it more and more.

I really need to do this for my dagger. Sir Vitus what thickness of leather do you use for the scabbards?

The best type of leather for scabbard bodies is double shoulder that is slightly on the thinner side.

I wish you'd been at Estrella. I could have tracked you down and pimped the set Sir Vitus and Eldric made for me. I was the envy of many.
