Bear in mind I'm still moving to replace my current breastplate with the one I ordered and splinted arms...Here's my progress so behold I'm the one in red.

Looks good, hard to see many details in that image. What exactly are you looking for as far as feedback? Are there particulars that you dislike or feel need improving? If you're interested in looking more accurate, you'll definitely want to consider getting the zinc removed from your hauberk to better match your aventail, which looks good. The fit on the greaves looks funky and they can definitely be replaced with something more form-fitting and accurate looking, possibly something to match the new splinted cuisses you mentioned?

By the way, when you post image links you right-click the image, select properties and then copy the image URL (ending in a jpg, bmp, etc) to put between the img tags.

That's an aluminium Haubergeon So I may try to blacken it. It was the maiden voyage for it. The "funky" in the greaves is the demi greave being over the splinted greaves and not buckled down. I reckon I should tighten them up to my leg or put them under the greaves themselves to be held back in place.

What year (or range) and place are you shooting for? I'm getting a 1350 HRE vibe.

Somewhere in that neighborhood. Onion Top bascinet, splinted greaves, cuisses, splinted arms (near future purchase) and globose breastplate (awaiting arrival).. Should finish it up.

Looking at the photos, the haubergeon is really reflective. I have to give some real serious thought to darkening it in some form.

You looked good this weekend Angus. How did the aluminum hold up by the way?

I loved it, weight wise and it's standing up to abuse (Duncan got some really good ones in) so I'm pleased so far.

As to the matching weapons. I think that's gonna be a habit along with the barrier I built as I hit events... I loves me some barrier fighting

Your kit looked really good this weekend. I used to fight in an aluminum rivetted shirt and had to give it up, I just couldn't take the shiny and the black & silver "stuff" it left all over my clothes and the inside of my coat of plates.

If you can find a way to take the edge off that "boy is that aluminum" look I think it would go a long way.

You get any cool "chain" bruises this weekend? That was always the nice part for me, pulling off my gear and going "wow, look you can see the rings & rivets in the bruise"

Yeah, his excellency Duncan Von Halstern got me a really nice upper left ass wrap.. I could count rings sunday morning..

Well the red gods of fighting have smiled upon me... Found a semi-local powder coating shop that will powder coat the haubergeon for around $40.. Gonna take it in to him tomorrow and he's gonna give me an actual cost on what it takes..

I'm thinking either a black or a dark gray (he called it regal gray)..

Opinions on color???
