Darkness or Dark Apprentice

Post by WilliamThomas »

Since this section is dedicated to Medieval Combat and Weapons… I was wondering who the Archivers believe would win in a fight between Darkness and the Dark Apprentice. Both would be allowed to use the weapon and style of their choice… so I would guess Darkness would use punching axe and sword, and Dark Apprentice would use bastard sword. I would also add that Dark Apprentice could not use his flaming sword, I believe there is already a video on youtube of what a flaming Darkness looks like.

So what are your thoughts? :)

Will Dark Apprentice be able to play some Man O War to get inspiration from, either from an I Pod under his armor or off to the side of the list? If so then Dark Apprentice all the way!

Hmmm that is a good question, the 3 to da P will be the marshal of this fight so really it would be his call. Though I would say as long as he made an attempt to make it look more period… maybe by putting some duct tape on it, it would probably be okay?

Bryce can we get a ruling?

This question is a little more complex that most Dark-o-philes would think.

While a flaming weapon might not be allowed per Darkness' propensity to catch on fire (see exhibit A: http://www.youtube.com/user/justus1199# ... pDLFFR8xPA ), I envision this epic brawl to be more along the lines of a street fight with appropriate build up (Exhibit B: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szDfDmcGnkE )

In fact I expect so much action like this (Exhibit C: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MwZBINfWNE ) that a mere SCA list field could not, nor should contain it!

Perhaps there is an abandoned warehouse on the dark side of town where these two could fight it out. But remember, in the end, there can be only one!

So assuming those parameters, I would guess that theme music would be ok, regardless of it's perhaps avataristic qualities it might impart to the Dark One.

Dark Apprentice has Man O War coursing through his veins, he has no need of an ipod. DA wins, no question.

Darkness got beat up by Tom Cruise and a bunch of faeries. DA could whip him with a pool noodle. While listening to Barry Manilow.

This one's easy folks. :)

So if you are a ‘dark apprentice’, what do you aspire toward? What is your goal and when you reach it what do you call that state of mind? If there can be only one dark apprentice….

Darkness is Dark Apprentices future self. He’s like a Terminator who travels back in time to stop the Terminator who traveled back to stop the kid who stopped the Terminators….Image

If Darkness is the future self of Dark Apprentice, has he lost the ability to Boom Yow or has he evolved beyond Boom Yow?

That is a sad story, when he was just Duskness, and not full-blown Darkness, many felt that the Boom Yow allowed him to use the weapon out side of it original design. While they did not ban him from using such techniques they “stronglyâ€

Darkness cares not for the flaming Boom Yow-
Darkness toils only for the Chop Jaw now.

Euraka!

I have found the perfect spot for this to go down:

I'm pretty sure that is in Ryellah to, so DA won't have to travel far....
