I was test cutting with Deva Slayer and then a Miao Dao (the techniques of Deva Slayer was actually Miao Dao swordsmanship) on stiff, dry newspapers staves and normal, wet, thicker newspapers rolls.

That is one serious meat cleaver.

The slimmer and longer one was the miao dao. The bigger meat cleaver was Deva Slayer.

I like the meat cleaver. It reminds me of a falchion! :)

Your upper body is working pretty well, but I don't think it is entirely in synch with the lower body. From the hips down, it looks like it is lagging a little behind. Synchronize them and I think your blows would be even better than they already are.

Thanks for your advice Baron. I'm trying to fix that because if I'm going to move around instead of cutting stationary, it really has to be well-sync in order to move. So that's the next objective. :)

BTW, here are some new vids.

With Deva Slayer, I was trying to cut a thick roll (5") and only penetrated 90%. Then I cut a normal roll successfully.

My student Harry was cutting with the miao dao successfully against a normal roll.

Another student was trying out a technique with miao dao on the normal roll with the first cut and the third cut being successful.
