Who is the guy with the Brown COP and the elongated (sort of hound skull) face plate?

I think I met him once briefly at one of our practices (MASC in calgary). Either that, or I met someone who copied his kit, tit for tat.

Very pretty. The C14 isn't my area of specialty, but the guys look really good. A couple of questions - is one guy wearing boots on his calves, or cloth covered greaves? And the guy on the right of the 3 in front of the red-topped tent - is his helm a funny shape? It seems to look a little wierd - yes, I know the visor is up, but it still looks a somewhat strange shape.

Certainly shows what can be done with a little effort.

Thats Anton Cvet, and he is in Calgary all the time. So yeah you probably have met.

The guy with the boots is me, and thats all they are. I don't have greaves or a gorget yet, but I'm working on that.

The hound skull/pigface helms are an unusual shape. Both the Cvet brothers have this shape of helm. Kinda the "spy vs spy", or "woodpecker from hell" look. They get a lot of commets on there helms!

Indeed, that's some very nicely done gear. You don't often see such a skull shape, but I'm hard pressed to spot the differences between them and a few museum pieces.

Some of the maile, particularly the tall guy's avantail as it's seen in the first upper right picture in front of the bouncy castle, looks thicker and darker than I'm used to seeing. Is the avantail lined? Is it blued? What's the construction of the maile like? Is this just an optical illusion that the camera couldn't handle with that light at that range?

It's cool that there's some variety in the harnesses. I particularly like the full greaves and sabatons. They're very appropriate with the pig face.
Great work!

Its just regular old riveted mail, I think it is a result of scanning the photo.

I added a few more photo's to the page at the above link. Check them out!
