This hardly sounds like a reliable eye witness account. It seems heavily embellished to me.

Even if this did happen exactly as written. It would have been notable because of its extreme rarity and the super heroism of the feat. This man is being likened to
Christ for Pete's sake.

Thats a real good primary source but,

like the man said.

It's a rare (if not unique) account. The fact that it is so rare is almost argument against acting out wounds.

Sounds like he was really wounded to me,not just acting it out.So if your leg IS hacked off,and you DO want to continue,you must hop around on one leg. For some reason I keep thinking of the Black Knight in Monty python.....Otto
