Personal Worst: Sprained SI joint. 3 years of pain and advil before I got a decent chiropractor to fix it.

Worst given: Broke my squire brother's arm with a well placed wrap shot.

Worst seen: 1- Spiral fracture to lower leg. Yow! 2- Bruised shoulder blade that swelled to the size of a half cantaloupe. His name was our battle cry for the rest of the day. I've never seen more ferocious valorous killing after his name was called.

Really worst seen: Guy who had his thumb nail ripped off. In more pain than the guy with the broken leg.

(This one is hearsay)

Sir Arafel (English SCA Knight) is fighting at Estrella when he gets a hefty cup shot from a spear. He flies back the usual six feet and lies on the ground clutching himself. Nothing unusual there.

But then folks start to wonder why he is screaming "Get it off! Get it off!" at the top of his lungs.

On closer, delicate investigation the cause is revealed. The spear thrust has split his cup along the midline but it is still held together at both ends. It has been rammed back into Arafel and clicked back into it's original shape, clamping down on his nether bits like a vice.

Ouch.

I was at an event in Ansteorra about 13-14 years ago where a guy had his cup do the crack & grab thing.

Ouch.

I didn't actually witness this but got the story first hand from the gent it happened to.

He was fighting and took a J shot to the cup. The cup split and opened just enough let some of his wedding tackle slip in. Then it pinched shut. He's been man enough to admit that he screamed like a little girl.

On a personal note, the Baron of a unamed barony got pissed off at me and whacked me across the thigh hard enough to give be a bone bruise though 16g mild steel legs and the padding underneath. I couldn't stand on it for 2 hours and limped for about 2 weeks. The resulting bruise was almost black.

It happened to one of our members at the Great Chigger War between Ansteorra and the Midrealm around 23 yrs ago as well.

Melee and I were fighting and he hit a strap on my armor made it fall off odd enough I kept fighting I did good until he Threw an ash axe handle at me (its 3-4 feet big) he brused 2 ribs.(I think thats why also my mom won't let me build or fight in armor (i'm 15 ). Shes also over protective. Although I though a hit to the thigh could not drop a man. I thought wrong melee hit me i dropped like a ton o bricks I had a 1 foot across bruise

My first combat experience, Champions of the Isles in GB. Went up agains Sir Michael de Brad. He did an exellent scorpion shot on me. Except my kidney belt slipped. He hit my kidney/short rib area. Yep, I called it quits right about then. Didn't pee blood, called it to good fortune. After a re-design, out on the field next weekend.

Recently, Tennis Elbow. Kept me off the list for almost a month. Starting to feel much better and got me time to re-work and incorporate my new shiny stuff.

I pulled a groin muscle a week ago. It seemed better. Today I pulled it BAD. The worst thing that's happened to me in the SCA. I figure I'll need to be down for at least 2 weeks.

Well about ten years ago my parents took a 2 month vacation... couple of friends and I were bored...
I had heard of the SCA, but knew none of the safty rules...
So we made swords out of whatever I had in the basement... I still have one carved a nice dragons claw for the pommel...opps getting off topic...

So there is three of us...
Bob: 6' musclular guy, makes a 2 handed sword out of a 4' long 2x4
John: 5'9" skinny as hell, he makes a shield out of venner(not smart), 4 daggers out of moulding, 2' sword out of 1x1
Me: 6' no fat(not like now) well built fast as hell. now I make 2 swords...one 3' long(the one I still have) and a shorter one for my left hand.

First up John and bob...

Bob starts off by becoming a windmill of death... John thinks his 1/8 thick shield will protect him...well John ends up with a bruise from his left bicep across his chest and down his right thigh...knocked him to the ground... John pulls out a (trim)dagger wips it at Bob...hits him right in the throat.

I had to pull Bob of of John(they have been friends since they were 5)

I fought them both and poked both of them never took a hit(I guess I should have took up SCA then).

John limped for a week and still gets mad if the subject is ever brought up!
