This pic was my reminder of what I wanted to look like when I was doing 14c. Not to copy it, but to capture the
feel of it.

For some reason using a drawknife with a baby chest protector still isn't OSHA approved.

My new favourite! Where did you get the fist? I have had this great idea for a gift to the Priory but I need something
exactly like that...

the last time i saw something like that was when i was working at an adult book store. it was a sex toy designed for the not so feint at heart. not saying that the one depicted is the same product, but it was what lept to mind when i saw the image.

I'm hoping he was joking and has a bad sense of humor.
I did a quick little mental inventory of my tools and my drawknife is safer than 90% of them. I have a greater chance of tripping over my own feet walking down the sidewalk than I have of hurting her with that draw knife.

It's actually realy hard to hit yourself in the chest with a drawknife. I'd venture it would still be hard with something (or someone) attached there.
I saw Roy Underhill give kids a drawknife to use in a class here at the museum. I asked him about it and he said that as long as they keep their hands on the handles they are one of the most safe edged tools because it is controlled by both hands as well as the strong muscle groups of the arms and back.
