I'll go ahead and make a thread with my kit in the armour construction area. And yes, there is armour in that pic. Not sure if that was a silly comment about all the women, or the fact that most of my armour is just padding

They'd be more visible if I had my greaves on.

Dags are so much fun.

When a gentle is knighted, it is a common custom for the crown to give them their "last unanswered blow."
This can range from a tap for the sake of tradition, to a blow they will feel for a few days.

Godfrey of Ibelin -- Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright, that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong; that is your oath.
[Slaps Balian] And that is so you remember it. Rise a knight, and Baron of Ibelin

That is Sir Kenrick reciving. Sir Kenrick was and is my squire-brother. We are proud of him, for sure. I was there in person. The ceremony for Sir Kenrick and the other two knights was as moving as a wedding.

It is in every kingdom but the style varies. In some kingdoms, the target is the face, in others, it's the shoulder.

In the middle of a match, I here some girls walk by saying, "What are they doing? Oh my god, are they LARPing?!" One girl insisted on getting a pic with me, so a lady in our group offered to take one for me as well

I would hope people would recognize the amount of work put into that kit and decide to not be peckerheads about something that is obviously a non-issue

A pic from a local SCA-event in -07 in a Viking longhouse... I took a bunch of pics, but this particular one captured the light through the smoke in a nice way.

Either of you guys have Ken's contact info? We haven't heard from him since he left Citadel here in the Outlands!
