Greets all

For some time now I have been trying to get a PreViking/Viking age rebated steel group going here in the States, well the Midwest anyway Image.

Now that I have found others that share this interest I am in the early stages of planning a training seminar that will feature steel fighting training taught by a couple of the official training officers of The Vikings (in the UK). This will be in the Kansas City Missouri area in early June (held during the first weekend of The War of the Lilies for you SCA folk)

I have got all my ducks in a row EXCEPT for the insurance issue.

Several of the folk that will be in attendance have sent feelers out about what to do. I have sent Brian Price an email but it’s been over a week and I hadn’t heard back from him yet.

So I have two questions for you all

a) This is the addy I have for Brian brian@chronique.com. Does he have an alternative addy?

b) For those of you who have hosted similar seminars, how did you handle the insurance issue?

Found a site that didn't require proof of insurance and had every participant sign a waiver. If your instructors are teaching in an official capacity (i.e. they are teaching at a Vikings event that happens to be running in Missouri) they may be covered by the insurance their organization carries.

Examples of waivers can be found on the websites of various martial arts seminars. WMAW has a good one.
