Edgecote 2010 (pic heavy)

Post by zachos »

This weekend represented the fulfillment of a whole load of work by a whole load of people, and I want to share the results with you all:

The Tournament at Edgecote field:

Gentlemen from across Britain came to test their skills, in the tournament rings:

Based on the stands in the Book of the Tournament by Renee of Anjou, the stands had fabric coverings, with real gold lettering across the faces:

For the amusement of the gentry and improvement of the masses, gentlemen fought in single and group tournaments on foot:

And mounted:

It was my pleasure to ride as the English Tournament Society in the crest mellee:

While Destrier provided mounted skill at arms displays:

and a Joust, with solid tilting arena as found in the beuchamp pageant:

Finally, each day was rounded off with a re-enactment of the battle of Edgecote Moor 1469:

Thanks to everyone who made this weekend my favourite event of the year. I hope we all get a chance to go back and make 2011 even better!
