I heartily agree the GA fighters fought well and honorably. But I still didn't envy them that fight up the hill.
But we got karma back by trying to fight in that castle gate.

Tell Sir Ashi that I want a rematch!

As I recall, we had a huge months-long publicity push a couple of years ago to get folks to BAM from GA, and we had about 80 on the field. This year and last were more like 50, and I expect that to be more the norm.

Yes, the hill sucked, but at least it wasn't hot. It really gives one a healthy respect for terrain. Normally in the SCA there is no really advantageous terrain for one side over the other, but in period half the battle was choosing where to fight it.

Wonderfully fun event as always. Thanks to our Ansteorran hosts for all their hospitality and another great Autumn Melees. If I don't see you at Gulf Wars I will look you at BAM again next year.

I had a great time for my first BAM. Thanks for Duke Gunthar for getting me some pickup fights. Makes it so much easier to get people to fight you when a Duke does the asking :) Hope to continue to expand into SCA fighting from a foam fighting background.
