Just put together my new armour progression picture, and I would love to see other fighters progression of their armour.

Seems you've always had nice-looking gear.

There are several progression threads already around -- threads on first kits, on heinous and appalling first kits...

The final kit looks fantastic. Well done!

Here is the last 4 years of my armor progression. I don't have pictures of my older kits, probably a good thing......

changes for 2011:
1. Chainmaille!!!
2. new tunic/pants/footwear
3. appropriately sized shield
4. More period spangen that I'm helping build (will post progress pics as it takes shape.

My progression. I spent some time out of armor when in school, so there is a decent gap. [EDIT for photo cleanup, Thanks all]

I've since made a few more bits, including splinted 1050 vambraces, and added a welded mail hauberk. Still finishing up some details, and have a ways to go. A few pics of additions:

Shynbalds (1050 hardened):

Nicely done Rudolph!

If I may, how did you construct your aliettes? I made a test pair last year out of cloth-covered foamcore just to see how they would do. They worked remarkably well. One survived and the other fell off due to a badly tied point.

Thanks,

They are made from some extra leather that I had left over from some holsters I made (about 6oz or so). They aren't quite finished, as I wan to do backing and possibly add some rings for attachment.

This is a great and very constructive thread.
I hope people can get as much inspiration from these pictures as I got in 2007 by the AA when I got inspired to do it better.

It's a bit embarrassing to post the old school pics, haha. :D

Awesome, this is exactly the sort of thing I wanted to see.

Its a lot different to see a full step by step evolution of someones armour then it is single picture representing this years improvements...

You can easily do this using a regular "paint" program as well. Open up every photo individually, copy/paste them into a large, blank paint frame and re-size them as necessary. Extremely simple.

I like Paint.Net (download free from GetPaint.net).

There is also GIMP. (its free)

If you don't want to install something, there is Aviary.com (A whole suite of online photo tools).

All of these are quite easy to use.
