Just letting everyone know, I am still working with Tom on these.

He just sent me some mock up pics and they look pretty good.

Now can we get them to offer a single price for the Maximum Coverage Shirt/Shorts combo?
The fact that the price must be paid is proof it is worth paying.

Is the price still in the $125 range, or is it different?

Here are the photos Tom sent to me.

The shorts are larger than the manikin he had, that is why they are baggy.
I asked that the front offset thigh pads be lowered to be inline with the lower 2 rows of pads on the side of the thigh.

Other than that, I think they look pretty decent.

In a perfect world I would wish for one addition pad right on the back of the thigh. I hardly ever get hit in the quads. The ones that hurt are the back of the leg.

Great job on this BTW and thanks for posting the pics!

Because of the way the padding and shorts are made, Tom said that adding pads directly on the back of the thigh won't work.
he got as close as he thought he could without comprimising wearabilty.

Is that a cup-pouch integrated in the front, there - or is it just reinforcement stitching?

So the swell of the buttock is impractical? That's always been a problem area, below the Roman skirt and above the cuisses . . . .

And I agree that they should incoporate a cup pocket

IIRC It IS an integrated cup pocket. No more jock over/under shorts!

Sweet. My current underpadding (CrashPads 2300) has the integral cup pouch and it is so nice. Having the compression shorts, with cup pocket and padding all built together is....well, I think I hear angels singing.

I'm impressed.

The tricky part now is the knee/cuisse boundary - something that interacts well with a knee-cop without gaps is essential. Those guys that welt people up - part of the reason they do so (unintentially) is that they're aiming for the extreme edges of the target zones (to maximize the difficulty in landing the target making an effective block by increasing the traversed distance).

Before production I'd have someone wear them to practice to provide feedback, for best results.

I also have an interest, and possibly others do as well, in buying individual components packaged for me to easily sew in existing armor/garments. Since the back of the leg is so important, being able to buy a set of those tubes that could sew into the back of the leg would be far preferrable to inventing something for just that area.

The legs seem pretty bulky too, maybe smaller tubes could work?

Just some thoughts, conversationally meant.
