For those of us who wish to talk about the many styles and facets of recreating Medieval armed combat.

Oh, another thing I was told off the bat was having a period-esque chair. It was just nonchalantly mentioned, but in that little discussion i was given info on how to make a period stool I could use.

I just now remembered, and I think I'm going to work on making one that I can break down :)
Serious sport has nothing to do with fair play. It is bound up with
hatred, jealousy, boastfulness, disregard of all rules and sadistic
pleasure in witnessing violence: in other words it is war minus the shooting.

Woot! I made it into an Ursus pic!

I still wish I had remembered to bring my maille. I felt almost naked without it.

You're the guy on the right, Vladimir?

If so, I have several more of you coming from Sunday's action. I hope to post those tonight, about 270 of them, I think. I've been working frantically on them trying to catch up, so I could start on Highland River Melees and then Storvik Novice.

I really hate falling behind like this... but those model photos slowed me down. (Check out my thread in "Off Topics" for more information if you have no idea what I'm talking about. Fair warning: text-heavy and full of detailed photo discussions.)

I got into one too! This is from the last Ymir. I'm the big guy on the right side with no helmet on.

Can't figure out how to make the picture show up here in the archive... Let's try an attachment.

Ursus,

Is it okay if I download a few of those? (Non commercial use of course.)

That's not...is that.....It really looks to me like that's M. Kevin of Thornbury's helm.

It's tricky, but Master Kevin is actually wearing it! :-)

I have nightmares about being struck by him; resulting from that, my brain tends to fuzz my eyes over when I try to look directly at pictures of him.

Jesus, now I'm remembering that St. Paddy's Day Bloodbath where I had to fight him like three or four times and it felt like I was being fired on by a battleship.

Check out Ursus Sunday pics 207-211. That is called the "get to know me maneuver". We used to mug Duke Richard like this and then laugh about it and say "we had engagement at breakfast this morning, Your Grace." :D

I have to admit my jaw dropped and all I could do is shake my head no. Poor ole Gabriel is really one of the nicest guys I know though a bit aggressive on engagement it seems :) However to his HRH credit he spun around got up and the FIRST thing he said to the marshal was… "we are going to call that an accident" :)

I am just glad to know that some of the younger guys still think it's OK to handle me that way. The heat got to me a little at Warfighter a week later and Vlad and Lucas treated me like their grandfather.
