heh. I like the song, got a good laugh out of it the first time I heard it, at Pennsic, riding out to unload gear from the household trailer. That video, however, not so much.

The song is about nobly striving against the yawning grave.
The video shows a clown losing the fight at every turn.

This has been my theme for a number of years. The best part of this video that you don't know about is that the "Great Big Biker Man" that knocks his lights out @ 3:25 is Big Dave Mattey, former Baron of Black Diamond, Atlantia, now professional actor and stunt man.

So yes, this is the perfect song for Older Fighters. ;-)

Big Dave is awesome!

Yeah it might be clownish at times, but he keeps fighting. And that's why everyone is at the door seeing him off.

At the last ToC, someone jokingly said about one of my opponents "Careful! He's got lots of youth and energy!"

My response was "And I have old and evil. Which do you want to bet on?"

But Aaron, the guy singing, he doesn't "keep fighting"... he keeps ignoring the fight, walking along singing his little song, until he has the misfortune of walking into someone, and then he doesn't fight, he just gets crushed. Note that the only guy being hauled away in an ambulance, the only guy showing any actual injuries (not even his buddy who took the pool cue across the teeth early on), is the singer, who dodged every second of the fight until the very end.

I would have a completely different reaction to the video if he had been fighting - at all - but he wasn't, didn't. He just left his old friend out there on his own and ignored him. Not my kind of friend.

Wow. It's a video to a song that meant to be funny. Aaron thought the words to the song (and I agree 100%) were inspirational. The video itself is just a funny story showing the folly of man. Good Grief.

Folks, I like the song. I get the humor. I like the full and very different version of the video better.

You don't need to jump on me because I explained what about this version I do not like.

Or maybe you do, in which case flail away all you want.

sheesh.

At the most recent Gulf Wars, I found that I'm as good as I ever was -- for about a minute, maybe a minute and a half. So if I ever get into a real fight, I'm going to have to finish it quick.
