No, but that would be so fun! Recreating the Battle of Lake Peipus would be a blast. :)

Our local SCA group (Nordskogen) rents an indoor hockey rink in the spring after they've removed the ice. Every now and then I have to fight flashbacks from my youth and NOT check someone into the boards!

Thanks Vilhelm,

Now if I could just get my fighting on par with my kit I'd be doing OK.

Here's the latest permutation is my armour:
Image

New bucket by Albert Collins, who did amazing work on this grand bascinet. It's a hardenened and tempered medium carbon steel replica based on the famous grand bascinet on Friedrich I von der Pfalz's armour currently residing in Vienna. It has two exchange visors, the original visor and a joust visor. A melee visor has been planned for next year.

I can't recommend him enough. Check this out:

Damn.

I must say, though, that in the transition from helmet designs, going without a helmet in 2008 was awful risky....

Added a couple more that just showed up. Definitely do not like the way the surcoat is pushing out when I'm sitting down like that...but maybe not much I can do about that.

here are a couple of me in the new Icefalcon Ti Hauberk. First one has a little "shield to body" contact... but LET IT NOT BE SAID THAT I THROW FLAT WRAPS!

Image

Oh and one from the back... although if memory serves, I think I flubbed this armpit shot!

Image

I do still want to figure out how to deal with the backs of my calves in this kit. I have some very light 6mm mail I was thinking of making mini chausses out of. I suppose I could wear hose and turn shoes instead of sweat pants and Keens... the Keens look great from the front though, as long as the ankles are covered - have a nice stick-out leather seam down the middle. People have accused me of making them!

I was looking at the person in the black lamallar with the round metal shield standing in the back left of the picture. I think his sword is broken, or it has one WICKED curve to it.

Since he standing at the head of a line waiting to fight, my guess is wicked curve.

This is a picture from the weekend. I'm wearing the household tabard rather than my usual surcoat, which is more fitted.

I thought I'd post a few images of my own kit, mostly as a tribute to the fine folks who made it!

This first is from Lysts on the Lake 2011.
(Note that I don't have my haubergeon on in that shot )

https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hp ... 1222_n.jpg

The next is from WMAW 2011 with Bernard Emmerich of Les Maitres des Armes, who is about to do bad things to my skull:

https://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-as ... 2940_n.jpg

And one of Christian Tobler and I fencing with spears (I am on the right, in the high-point).
306481_273014332716906_100000250252408_1092173_807101031_n.jpg
The arms harness and gauntlets are by Jeff Wasson, the legs by Jiri Klepac, the helmet by Jacek Matera and the cuirass an impulse purchase from Anshelm while at Pennsic a few years ago. The haubergeon is blackened stainless (riveted) and the whole thing is pointed to my Revival Clothing arming cotte.
