Zoombang / West Kingdom

Post by blackbow »

just c/p'd this from the zoombang fb feed.

Brion Porter‎West Kingdom, SCA
After concluding an email conversation with the Society Earl Marshal, I am now confident in announcing that the Zoombang product does meet minimum equivalency standards for "rigid protection". Therefore, it may be used as the sole protection over the kidneys and short ribs.

In doing so, the protective garment must not be compromised or damaged, and there must not be any significant gaps between small pads. This is to make sure any impact is properly distributed over a wide surface area of the protective garment/pads.

In short, Zoombang is approved for rigid protection, so long as the area of protection is not so small, that the impact is transferred to one's body.

We will be updating the Armored Combat Standards, with this information, in the next revision. Thank you all for your patience, while this issue was being sorted out. Any questions or comments should be sent to me directly, as I don't rely on public forums for such communication. Please also feel free to pass on or cross-post this information.

Sincere regards,
Ritter Meister Brion, Landgraf von Bellatrix.
West Kingdom Earl Marshal
