I'm stiving to make some suitable weapons for the 13th century holylands.
Does anyone have any refrences which give sizes (length x width) for either turkish maces or falchions? I have nothing on the maces, other than they had fairly small heads. I have a few drawings of Falchions, but nothing to indicate sizes.
I am guessing that both would be about 24" to 30" in overall length. Mace heads being about 2" in diameter, and falchions being about 3" wide at the broad point.

well
I don't know if this will be any help to you.
Stone's glossary says (after talking about a type of persian mace with a bulls head) "other persian and turkish maces have globular or spindle shaped heads. Flanged maces were also common."
Therion Arms is advertising a turkish mace from the 1600's on it's website, with fairly precise dimentions, and details on how it was probably constructed.
I don't know if any of this will help you though. It's too far afield, but maybe it's enough to make a guess...
here's the addy for the therion offering.
