Magnus, Very well met and your prowess on the field was very admirable, I thank you for the pick up fights. I must agree with Hrolfr, Gleann Ahbann is due much recognition for turning the tides in many of the battles.

And a great job done by all who made Gulf Wars XIII such a memorable event.

Not to repeat what was said at the last court, but there were many very magical moments at this event and putting faces to the names on this board was awesome, I cant wait to see you all again.
Yours in service,

James, it was great meeting you and Cyric on the field. You gots some real spiffy armor there, guy. It was cool seeing Woeg again without having to drive to Georgia.

I got to see Jean Paul's knighting after I was afraid I had missed it. Way awesome. There were far too many things that happened to post here more than just the highlights.

I want to go back. Now.

Hey It was my pleasure to meet ya'll on the field in a target rich enviroment!!!! This was the first GW I have been to where I wasn't taken out of one single battle by archery!!! I had a heck of a time fighting with my trimarrian neighbors and doing pick ups with a member of your chilvary after the fort battle. You truly have some skilled warriors in your kingdom. I would be a liar if I said I wasn't proud of our Principality and of the units we fielded this year. We truly have wonderful leaders with TSH and our Comander Drogo as well as of course our Chilvary. Kind of like the old cirgeratte commerical "We've come a long way Baby!" I can't wait till next year!

Of course - it makes the story so much more fun. :)

There were times, particularly in the ravine battle, when it sure felt that way. I have little way to count and only went by what the marshal's told us, but the numbers were still somewhat in Ansteorra's favor for the field battle and close to even for the fort (maybe even in Trimaris' favor by then - I don't know, it looked pretty close to me).

But that moat battle would have truly sucked without the Ansteorran help.

I also had a grand time! The battles were pretty fun, I got to fight in the "Protect the King" scenario and the Individual champions battle as well as the normal war points.

My vigil and knighting were everything I hoped they would be... memorable and significant and enjoyable...

The numbers for each army are always a controversial topic at Gulf Wars.

During the ravine, an Ansteorran came over to praise our fighting and our indomitable spirit in the face of being "a bit outnumbered."

I said, "A bit outnumbered? More like two to one." He replied that it was nowhere near that bad and they probably only had about 80 extra guys but that 80 made a big difference. I think he was embarassed when I told him we had about 160 guys. He thought we had a lot more than that and he looked around at our side very carefully after I said that. In the end, I think he was convinced it was closer to 2:1. The town battle the previous day was near 2:1 as well. Oddly, we had more Meridians in the town than in the ravine.

I think the numbers were pretty even in the moat after Ansteora sent guys over. That might have been the one battle we would have won even if we had been outnumbered 2:1 since attacking through a portal with no shields is such a lopsided affair.

We were down about 80-100 guys in the field battles by my estimate, which makes winning the first field battle astounding!

Hooray again for Glenn Abahn.

The fort was near to even numbers. We were probably down about 30 guys but we had clear archer supperiority and siege engine supperiority which more than made up for it.

After recieving 30 minutes of brutal missile fire while defending the fort (taken in a leisurely 41 minutes), HRM Ansteorra decided that an all out attack from lay on would be preferable to being pelted again and this lead to the fastest fort defense in GW history--All attackers slain to a man in 9 minutes.

It was a great war, thanks in part to the grace of our Asteorran foes (thanks Miguel).

I might be ... It was a guess made due to seeing our forces in a single line acrossed the field and the forces of Ansteorran acrossed the field in 3 or 4 deep soo that may have been just 80 to 100 men I don't know the exact count
