Can't...doing the low-carb thing.
I won't be so cocky and arrogant to say how many times I'm going to hit you, but I'll hit you.
Just sayin'.

I know two very good macemen.
One of them is viscount Mike the Mace out of Memphis. He (I think) is a mundane Kung Fu instructor. Moves like an eel and he can generate a ton of power with a very short arm movement. Very good integrated body coodination. His personal style is the reason I feel like our methods of training power generation may not be as complete as they need to be.
The other is Bryan of Gwenneth, who in Drachenwald is called Da Badger. He is a ton of fun to fight. Badger can also generate a lot of power in a really short distance. he likes to get the point of his elbow inside your sheild, and then jack you up with a six inch movement of the mace.
I don't wanna say duh but ....

Well i hate to say duh but.... duh.
IMO we do too much whipping and arm oriented slinging of shots. Ends up causing shoulder injuries like Logan, me and others have.
More total body movement less slinging movements that tear apart rotator cuffs.

I want some maces. Maces are cool. I had an opportunity to purchase some mace-heads at the Tournament of Chivalry but passed. This was an error, or maybe not.

I've recently made too for Pas's that I really enjoy. The first is a By my Hand head and the second is an experimental weapon made from a Kong brand Doggie chew toy, with clackers and such. I call it The Wrath of Kong, and it is a manly weapon.
I totally suck with them, but i'm always looking to learn...

Earl Brannos was the best I have ever seen. He gave it up, like most SCA fighters, because of elbow troubles.

I think I would like a pair of well-appointed maces for exactly the purpose that you have said, namely deeds of arms. It is well to have a table laid out with a variety of matched weapons, so that any type of form can be undertaken. And maces are pretty rare weapons, in SCA combat--I just don't see them used very much; hellfire, I haven't picked up a mace in nigh unto ten years myself!
By My Hand, eh? I will look into this. Besides, maces are an excellent use of broken swords.
Sir Vitus, I hear the rede implicit in your tale of His Excellency, Earl Brannos--the mace can be a harsh mistress to both wielder and receiver.

The intention was to make a pair of them for His Grace Ragnarr and I to play around with and use at Pas's. However, in construction, we found that the Kong mace really wanted to be shorter.
These were stained and wrapped and were rather nice looking until an uncaring Cuan

had them sprayed with white pain at Gulf Wars. For shame! And His Majesty makes such beatiful weapons himself...
I found that shortening the mace made it the perfect backup weapon for fighting spear. Once I was armed by one of those damn Porkchops on the Bridge, I was able to stand behind Ragnarr and whack anyone that broke thru the line on a charge. I must say, there was never any question that the blows were good...
