When: June 12-13 (an additional day can be added if interest is shown)
Where: Smithville Lake, located North of Kansas City, Missouri

This training session will be sponsored by Norsa (a member of Midherr) and The Vikings NA.

There will be at least two certified Viking RTF's on hand to provide basic combat training. This is the basic training needed to participate in the Hastings 200X events sponsored by English Heritage each year in the town of Battle. Any person that is assessed and passed (after multiple sessions) by these RTF's will be able to skip the process at the Hastings reenactments.

The Vikes kit and combat standards will be enforced.

All paid members are the Vikings are welcome. All others must contact me to make sure there are openings. I am limiting this session to 30-35 people. Contact me asap if youd like to reserve a spot.

As it was last year, this training will be held at the same time as the SCA event Lilies War.

Though the timing is the same this event it TOTALLY non-related to the SCA, Lilies War or the Kingdom of Calontir. We choose this time of the year as it allows folks to attend to events for the cost of one.

For more info on Lilies see http://calontir.sca.org/lilieswar/site/site.html

Unlike last year, separate camping will not be available to those not willing to camp with the SCA. If you cant coexist camping with the SCA there are several near by modern lodging facilities.

I can put up about 8 folks if they don't mind sleeping snuggly with others. Contact me if interested. Bedding can be provided it advanced notice is given.

I will offer to feed those that travel a distance of more than one state. If you wish to take me up on this you need to give me ample time to arrange to do so. (i.e. don't contact me 2 days before wanting to be feed, contact me ASAP).

An event fee of $5 per head will be charged to help cover the expense of water and other perishables (This is non-negotiable). I plan to have water, Gatorade, pickles, jerky and orange slices for the participants.

This fee will be paid at the beginning of the first session, so no pre-pay is required or expected. (NOTE: this is in addition too and separate from the Lilies site fee if you choose to camp there.)

NOTICE: This is not a NADARA sponsored event, it is a Vikings NA event. All money that exceeds the cost of perishables will go into Midherr's "Bring A Brit to the US" fund which will be used in the future. Other donations will be accepted.
