Anyone heard of swordmaker AXEN?

I just came into a sword I want to use for steel work. It has the name etched on the guard just elow the blade. not stamped letters but done well just the same The sword looks to be not of the assembly line fame. The person I got it from said it came from a maker in the states. If anyone wants a pic or two let me know. Thanks. I would like to get a bit more info on the sword maker and or forge before I start swinging it at my friends ;-)
