CA questions for Pennsic

I have recently obtained a crossbow and have a few questions. First I will state that before any say I should not use this weapon that I carry and will use it as a request from a woman who is greatly ill and unable to do her duty as a combat archer to the house hold we both belong to.

I am under the assumption that at Pennsic I wil be able to have the pull tested. Is this correct? She told me it was a pull of 600 inch pounds but I wish to be sure before I have a fletcher construct quarrels for it. Also will I be able to authorize as an archer there ? I will of course have finished reading the rules for CA before this time but ask only so that I am informed correctly before the baggage train for Pennsic is loaded completely.

Not sure about most of those items...
But I'm 99% sure you need to be qualed prior to Pennsic.
If I'm right, you'll want to find your local CA Marshal and hope he'll test you now.

It sounds as if what your're doing is quite noble, but be wary that if you have no CA experience, I foress a CA Marshal being quite wary of qualing you (safety). If you're already qualled as a heavy list fighter, that wil prob grease the wheels.

You have to be authorized before Pennsic. You have to authorize by the 31st, in order to fight at Pennsic. If you can do that, I would be willing to work with you at Pennsic, the first week..

I would recommend contacting Mistress Qaylah, your KingdomDEM for CA, to see if there are any events or fighter practices where you could authorize this week.

If you can't get ahold of her, let me know and I Can send you some other names and emails of CA marshals in your kingdom. What part of Meridies are you in?

Let me know if I can help with anything. If you ask the person doing the authorizing can check the poundage. Meridies has a Kingdom cache of missiles, so if you make arrangements this week, you may be able to borrow some for Pennsic. I'm assuming since you are a squire that you are already heavy qualified. If you aren't authorized in anything yet, IMO.. there's no way you wil be trained and ready to fight at Pennsic. I would recommend waiting (in that case) for a different event.

Send an email to Mistress Qaylah and I'm certain she will be able to help you and let you know what your options are.

I have sent the lady an email and since I am already authorized as a heavy fighter I at least know what it feels like to be hit by arrows
