I have no input on the item in general but have input on Manning itself

First off, for years I have recommended them as one of the best I have ever dealt with

Recently I was ready to place an order
I emailed back and forth with them about specifics
He was always quick to respond
Then when I was ready to place the order I contacted them saying I needed a price so I could send them money.
Nothing for several days
So I contacted them via a list I new they were on, my words were "Hey I have some money Id like to send you, please respond to my email"

When they finally answered I was scolded for doing so
Told that it was common for them to not respond for days
And that if in the future I didnt hear from them in a few weeks to try again
Then told that at this time the standard waiting time AFTER recieving payment was 11 months.

As such I dont recommend them anymore
I am just glad all this happened BEFORE I sent them my money
I let them know that from now on my money would be sent to the UK and that word of mouth was a powerful tool, one that I would use when I could

Wow! That is probably the worst reveiw I have seen here except the armourworks thread. Even King's Lance seems to get better reviews.

Do we have any other folks who have dealt with manning imperial? Is this level of disservice typical? One bad reveiw does not count as a trend, but, wow.

What's $380 AUD in US dollars? In any case, it seems pricey for such a plain piece. The Deepeeka pugio is very close, needing only minor work.

It is also rather cheaper, typically running $80 to $100 US.

Manning

The Manning goods ARE custom pieces, and the quality of works shows - I have seen several of their pieces for various eras and they are quite nice.

The Deepeekas are okay (makes hand waving gesture of ambivalence) but aren't a real tool.

I have tried to work with Manning in the past. Their stuff looks top knotch and I here it's good workamnship but their customer service leave tons to be desired.

I have emailed them and not received replies for months. One reply came so long after I sent it I had forgotten what it was I was even interested in.

Thats my 2 cent on the issue.
