An Tir May Crown

So it is a 22 hour drive to Crown this year for me. Each way.

And it looks like I am probably going.

So I was thinking, those Atlantian guys list their odds on favorites to show in their Crown lists. Does anybody want to take a crack at that for An Tir?

Even better yet, do you want to include a picture along with your picks if you have one. :D (The joys of a giant Kingdom) If not, that is cool too.

And one more thing. Who are some top squires to pick on in the squire's tourney.

Thanks guys,
Hrogn

Is there a list of who is competing?

prediction: duke uther of the west and duke sven of antir in the finals.

was fun watching them fight at estrella.

sir tiernan and sir nicholous are possibilities..

dark horse is sir kjarten who took 3rd in the sept western crown tourney and 2nd at ursalmas.

not fighting but I could be wrong: duke thorin who recently reigned and duke skapti who may or may not fight according to his squires?

this one is going to be interesting.

growing list of antir knight pictures at: http://tiarmour.com/antirknights/index% ... an_tir.htm

letter index of knights: http://tiarmour.com/antirknights/index_ ... nights.htm

I take over as chiv secretary at may crown and information of this type will become much more acessable.

antir squires and knights should send bios and pictures to antirsquires@yahoo.com and antirknights@yahoo.com

there will also be a fighters forum and more soon.

thanks
mrks

After May tourney Duke Uther seems to be the odds on favorite. From what I was told he was rolling through most everyone that day.

Duke Sven is one who could beat him.

From one of Duke Skepti's squires his grace is not fighting. Neither is Duke Thorrinn, or Sir Aethelred. Again that is all second hand.

Should be a good tourney.

Who won't be there as I will be packing to move that weekend.

Is Davin in? I heard some rumblings about a drywall injury or something like that but it is hard to trust rumours over 1500 miles.

That's good stuff with the pics there mrks. thanks. I've been out to the coast enough to know a lot of the uber-dukes but there are certainly enough guys that I will want to remember after I fight them at Crown and having a picture gallery sure does help. When you can't remember a name, you can always remember a kit.

I don't have a digital picture around that I can think of to send you but I will get one and send it in soon.

An Tir does the western rite of those who show up that day fight. So you never now how big or who is in the list until the day of Crown.

After seeing him fight this weekend, I'd say Duke Uther is going to be Crown Prince of An Tir come Sunday Morning.

My bet is that it will be somebody that is already a duke. I hear the one from the west is kind of good.

This is An Tir, someone will come out from no where, who we never expected to win and become the Crown Prince. It has happened before, and they were good kings and later good knights.
Of course after all of that wind, I bet on Sven Gunnarson or his Dad if he is in for another reign.

Mrks care to comment?

Squires to watch:
Christofer (Little FAST (faster than I was) heater guy. Hrogn, jump in fast and hard Crowd and pound) http://tiarmour.com/antirsquires/squire ... uramen.htm
Ulfgar (Good round shield fighter) http://tiarmour.com/antirsquires/squires%20ulfgar.htm
edit I see he's been put on vigil/knighted
Aethelreds Squire (can't remember his name).

Sir Ulf's Squire http://tiarmour.com/antirsquires/Leuan%20Gower.htm
Decent lefty

Count Nicholaus - Hrogn watch for a press followed by an off body armpit. Stay away and snipe.

If you get lucky enough to draw Uther....well enjoy the ride!

Good luck and be ready!

Edited to add:
Ulf's Squire is the current Prince of Tir Righ

He still lives in the West, but has sworn fealty to the An Tir crown and asked permission to fight in crown. An Tir, like the West, as the history of allowing out of Kingdom fighters to fight in crown if they swear fealty.

Uther only won 5, he just seems like he won more :-)
He's an awesome fighter, but there are few people out there who have a serious shot at taking him out of a tourney. An Tir has a few of those.. Nicholas, Davin, Skepti, a few others. They are great fighters.

For what it's worth, Uther is currently leading the Mists tournament circuit with 22 points.

The guy in the second place has 7 (maybe 8 ).....

Wow, you guys keep points? What a cool idea. How does the point spread work?

Dude that's awesome! How does the point system break down?
Back when I was baronial Champion I held Monthly tournaments, and the person who won/placed the most was awarded a personalized silk banner at the end of the "tourney season".

Rumor has it that a point system will be coming to An Tir in the near future.
(I believe that the sign up begins in Sept.)
That was what came across the Fighters list about two weeks ago.

Personally I like the idea. It would be cool to have an idea of who is a threat with a certain fighting form, and who is not. Plus it will be interesting to see who uses the points to improve in certain areas.

My understanding is that there will be seperate catagories for different weapon styles, and a over all list of points.

The tourney circuit is a really fun idea. I believe my Kingdom (Artemisia) was the first to start doing it. We actually had someone from the Kingdom of the West ask if it was okay to copy it.

That someone would be me.. not afraid to steal a good idea! :-)

Eyvandr does fight a lot... going to the Crapaud I skipped gave him an edge, he went to semis. I'll beat him by next month, though..
It's going to be a tad harder to catch up to Uther, though. Freaking overachiever dukes

It's true that Davin had to have extensive surgery on his right arm partially due to a harmless-seeming accident that occured while drywalling. He's not down for the count however, I think that would take a couple bolts of lightning. As I understand it, he's making a careful recovery.

PS: I feel kind of bad that said drywalling was done so that my lady and I could move into his house.
