Accountability 1/20

I went to Bright Hills practise last night. This is the first time that I've gone to two practises in one week in I-don't-know-how-long.
Small practise, only four people armoured up. Our Baron, Barre; Lord Graham; Lord Kalloc(sp) and myself. I did not get a chance to fight Barre, as he was getting out of stuff as I was fighting Kalloc.
It was fun. Fighting Kalloc is fun but frustrating for me as he is a leftie who knows me well. Even though he is recovering from shoulder surgery, he was still all over me...I barely landed anything on him. The one good spot in our sparring is that I'm getting better at moving my head as shots are coming in, causing a lot of shots that normally would have brained me to be high or glancing. Sir Tascius instructed me on Monday to do a little knee dip as shots are coming in as that might be enough to make them land untrue; he was right.
Next I played with Graham. They had a pair of bucklers and had been working a bit with Strykar and they showed me a bit of what they had been doing. It was a lot of fun, and I am going to pick one up for myself. I didn't do too badly; I did notice that my sword arm did get fatigued quickly from holding it out in front of me as I was.
They also showed me some stuff that they had been doing with wiffle ball bats for practise. Turn out has been so small in BH that if only three people show up, they haven't been arming up, just doing work with the bats. Well, since I plan on coming at least three weeks out of four, it looks like we'll all be arming up.
Was going to go to the unofficial practise in Storvik today, but decided to spend time with my family today.
Looking forward to Monday night though. If I get my spaulders hooked up in time, I'll bring out my pollaxe and join in on the bridge battles.
