Back from Nissan's Little War

Post by Angusm0628 »

What can I say?? It was incredible I loved every second of it.

As expected the Mercs were outnumbered 2-3 to 1..The fighting was hard, fast paced, and what I thought to be some of the cleanest most honorable fighting I've seen in one hell of a long time.
The only glitch I found was when one of our household snuck in past the royal gaurd got His Majesty Felix's attention with "Your Majesty I have important news for you" then boinked him on the bar grill with his axe and Jackrabbited back across the lines. Apparently his Majesty was not armed (sword and shield at his feet) when this occured. But in the end I believe it was resolved without hostility or malice.

But like I said. for those of you who didn't make it...You missed one Great show of fighting and Honor far as I'm concerned.

Hats off to Nissan for concocting this little affair. Hats off to his Majesty Malcolm for taking this in the lighthearted manner for what it was given to be. And Hats off to everyone who was there and gave some real Honor to our sport....

I would also and that he asked the question when my back was turned and as I turned he gently tapped me upon the grill. While his choice was poor he meant it in great fun and showed great restraint as he could have blasted me while I turned and was unarmed. In the end he begged forgivness as he was truely alarmed at the possibilty of giving offence. I told him that I understood and held no ill will torward him and asked him to return to the field and enjoy the remainder of the day. He is a good man and look forward to seeing him again.

Now THAT my friends is a truly NOBLE and ROYAL response! Huzzah your Grace!

That rumor is put to bed nicely and now can be talked about in pleasant terms.

And if you are not yet a Duke, my apologies for complimenting you early.
With respect,

-Aaron

Events such as this, with a storyline and purpose are the most fun of all.

Well worth the 6 hour trip there, and then back.

Nissan-
Thanks for what you did. You turned what is always a good event, into a really great event. You gave us all a good time all winter with the bluster and posturing.
Thank you, your Magesty Malcom, for leading us well, in such a good humored fashion.
Thank you, your magesty Felix, for displaying such grace (pun intended)
in what could have ended up an ugly situation.

-Graedwyn
twenty years in this damn dirty armor- twenty years, while you were a'wantoning at court!

I was impressed at the documentation that resulted from this. Thanks to the MOL's list, we know have a list of all those renegades, rebels and malcontents who must be watched and never, ever be made a peer of the realm. The plan worked. This is so much better than relying on our spies and border guards to get the names right.

:)

Seriously, sorry I missed it and glad you all had fun. Maybe you should try this again next year. Everyone that has commented on it to me has had only positive things to say about both sides.

Richard
Is the SCA a better place for having you in it? If not, what are you doing there?
