Okay. I have one of the Mandrake Axe heads. I'd like to mount it on a ~6ft pole. In fact, it's already on there.
Here's the relevant passage that I find in the Atlantian ruleset:
3.5.2.4.1.10 A polearm head shall be securely affixed to the haft and allow ½ inch of progressive give between the striking surface and the weapon haft.
The head itself gives when pushed on. Must I put foam on the face?
Thanks in advance.

welll...
the question is, does the rubber head give enough to have 1/2" of progressive give?
Most don't.

A single mandrake axehead (one with a void between the striking edge and the socket through which the rattan slides) would pass if I was inspecting it because under moderate pressure the striking surface will give the required amount. I have a handaxe with a single unpadded mandrake head on it. But what do I know.

Well, okay. I'll try to finish it for this weekend (if I get my midterm done early tonight).
Plan for striking head is now "glue foam on face of axe, cover in tool dip".
So at least it'll have a little more cohesion without the duct tape.
Boy I can't wait to take this brace off so I can type faster (again). Took me like 5 minutes to write this...
Sir Corby, are you going to hang around for Highland River Melees? Weather.com says it's supposed to hit a high of 74 on Saturday.
Corwin - are you going?
edit:
Hold the phone!
Okay, I'll just finish without the foam and bring supplies, just in case.

I'll be there, as will my squire Philip and probably Susanna too.
I'm day tripping.
