Shield Sizes
I know that it varies and depends on each individual and their style, but what size would those that participate in the Pas consider reasonable/acceptable in regards to shield size?

I would stick to a small one, because small implies that you are well-mounted and well-armoured, and thus noble (rich).
A large shield implies that your legs can easily be hurt, because you have insufficient leg armour. It also smacks of foot-soldiering.
Knights fought on foot all the time, but they didn't use the types of gear found in the hands of the common soldiery.
If you are worried about getting battered- simply get leg-armour appropriate for a Pas.
I am 5'5. I would never use a shield larger than 22x22 for a Pas. I need to look like I just dismounted. If I cannot wear my shield on my back with a guige strap than it is too large for a more historically accurate Pas on foot.

I surely wished that I lived nearer the two of you...
Since I am a wee bit taller than 5'5" (by a bit over a foot) would it be safe to measure my back from say the shoulders down to my waist and use those dimensions to come up with a shield template.
With my lack of experience in more period styled combat this 'seems' like it would create a shield that I would be able to wear across my back like suggested by Sir Vitus.

Always found chin to crotch to be pretty decent for the smaller size shields.
Shield rules I am used to for heaters have always been half height and shoulder width. But I also have one that is chin to crotch and is about 3 to 4 inches shorter, and seems to keep the small shield folks happy in pas's.
